Happy New Year! Much like the rest of the world, reflections have been had, goals have been set, ideas have been considered, and it’s time for actions to take place.

That’s what this article is about today.

For those of you who have subscribed to this newsletter, you’ll notice the name change from Pursuing Success to High Performance Strategies. This isn’t being done just to do something different; it’s to get myself in better alignment.

I go back and forth quite often about what’s next, how to continue evolving, and how to provide value. Sometimes that shows up in tweets, IG posts, Substack articles, etc.

This is an effort to clarify that.

Yes, I attended school to become a Mental Performance Coach, hold a Master’s in Sport Psychology, and am a practicing Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC). But I look at the work I do differently than just that.

I study high performers, both in and out of sports. I work with high performers, both in and out of sports. And I strive to be a high performer myself: a high-performing husband, father, MP Coach, person. I’ve realized it’s clearer to explain that I specialize in High Performance. It’s what I’m interested in and aim to help others obtain. It’s what I most enjoy learning and talking about—being a High Performance Specialist.

I’m restructuring the work I do in this writing.

Hence, High Performance Strategies.

Do any of you like doing puzzles? I do. Figuring things out. How pieces fit together. What goes where. Solving clues. Connecting the dots.

I like doing the same thing for performance, taking things that some of the best in the world do, and figuring out how they fit. What can be added or eliminated. How to think through difficult decisions. Navigating the highs and lows of a season, providing solutions through questions asked, sharing insight from other disciplines, and making it work for you. What works for Tiger Woods may not work for Jeff Bezos and vice versa. But there may be takeaways from both that can be applied.

My role is to provide pieces and help you shape them into your own puzzle. Delivering high-level performance consistently to achieve your and your team’s best.

That’s what I want this to be about. My writing style may change somewhat, and the topics may vary, but expect some things to remain similar overall. All aligning towards High Performance Strategies.

I will continue sharing things I find interesting, what has worked for me, lessons learned, the latest I’ve read, and whatever else I think may help be a piece in your puzzle of High Performance.

I hope you enjoy, and I look forward to connecting with you all this year!
